Purple Neodymium glass paired with Abalone adjustable ring

This purple glass piece started its life most likely as decorative glassware. Neodymium glass has special optical properties that allow it to change color in different lighting and was used extensively in the 1930s and 40s in decorative glassware. I took beach found little purple chips from Spain and melted them in a kiln into a cabochon mold to make these gorgeous little purple gems. It’s a perfect match with this little piece of Abalone shell and turns blue in fluorescent light. This ring is a size 8, but it’s adjustable up or down half a size.
